Samsung introduced the Samsung Series 8 850 / 860 LCD HDTVs, which feature a full HD 1080p Ultra Clear LCD screen, with a fast 4ms response time.
Interestingly, Samsung actually released different models numbers for different size and colours.
The Samsung Series 8 is available in either a “deep blue” or “rose red” finish in 46-inch or 52-inch sizes. The red version (850’s) have the following model numbers, 46-inch Samsung LN46A850, and 52-inch Samsung LN52A850. The blue (860’s) as the 46-inch Samsung LN46A860 and 52-inch Samsung LN52A860.
These fantastic Samsung models are made to impress with the winning “Touch of Color” design. They simply look stylish, sleek and elegant. Feature wise, the Samsung Series 8 (850 / 860) are equally as impressive with Auto Motion Plus 120Hz technology for sharp, judder free images even during high motion scenes, a high 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for great colors, down firing speakers with integrated sub woofer.
All features appear to be the same except for the fact that the 860 has a extra USB 2.0 port. Other features include WiseLink and InfoLink RSS information service providing current news, weather and other information differently on the screen, DLNA networking support, Wide Color Enhancer 2, and DNIe Pro image enhancing technology. The Samsung Series 8’s also feature NTSC / ATSC / ClearQAM tuners, and great connectivity with 4x HDMI inputs.
If you would like to consider another model before making your choice, I would suggest the Samsung LN52A750. Just for the sake of mentioning, I would not care to mention in detail. For one very important point, I already impressed by the above models. If you are also someone who is into the home entertainment system, 750 will lack in some insignificant ways to a newbie but not to one who is a pro in this area.
